To be an administrator, other than qualification, one needs to poses certain qualities which can either be learnt by observations or by getting trained or both which happens in maximum. In my understanding, a leader is one who leads not a herd but a team.
To lead a herd is easy as there will never be a question asked, nor will there be a revolt brewing in the minds of those dormant yet alive live stocks which just desire to follow instructions. There is nothing great. A training to train the minds to just follow the instructions is enough. The rest of the work happens as per the conditioning theory. The leader in this case needs no flexibility as there will never be a challenge to address as grievous or stressful as may be expected from a team of talented members.
To lead a Team, however, instructions wont be enough. There will be several issues to address, a lot to estimate, a few to keep in loop, a few to be kept happy, a lot to be trained, a great number of them to be reprimanded and then applauded as well (regular follow up for sure)
If that is not the end, there will always be a number of those unpredictable emotions to be addressed which can come up anytime, from anyone, in any manner what so ever!
As such, those who desire to lead, need to be one with an elastic mind and a brain like a sponge- ready to be stretched and ready to soak in anything and everything fed with. Not to forget, a quintessential element which saves a leader a lot of time and energy - being diplomatic yet straight forward.
Note: These are just a few points... the list is otherwise, endless.
